MVA Tag Return
Important Information:
If you do not follow these steps, you could receive a penalty of $150 for the first month. After the first month, you will receive a penalty of $7 per day until you return your tags.
You could accumulate more than $2,000.00 in penalties every year!
Lastly, don’t forget to ask for a copy of your receipt once you return your tags.
Note: It is your responsibility to know the laws in Maryland. Please keep up to date by checking the MVA’s official web site.

Step 1
Return your tags in an authorized Tag & Title such as 1A Maryland Registration and obtain a copy of your receipt.
Step 2
After returning your vehicle’s tags with us, keep a copy of your receipt for the next six months for insurance purposes.

Tag Return & Verification
Keep in mind that if you return your vehicle’s tags in a DropBox, you will not be able to cancel your insurance until you obtain a receipt from the MVA by mail.
This process could take up to two weeks!
If you do your tag return with us, you can cancel your insurance the next day.
